Divij Khaitan

Hello, I am Divij.

I am currently a Research Fellow in the PROSE team at Microsoft Research, working closely with Ashish Tiwari on the integration of AI into Microsoft Excel. I’m broadly interested in the foundations of Machine Learning, specifically in building models that are robust, explainable and that generalise well.

Prior to this, I graduated summa cum laude with a silver medal from Ashoka University, where I studied Mathematics and Computer Science. While at Ashoka, I worked with Sandeep Juneja at the SafeExpress Centre for Decision, Learning and Data Sciences on short-to-medium term weather forecasting using Machine Learning. I also wrote a thesis under Subhashis Banerjee that proposed a new framework for analysing the robustness of deep neural networks.

When not reading papers, you can find me reading manga, playing blitz on chess.com or enjoying a board game.
